Patsy Cline was one of my Fathers favorites. Must admit I wasn’t much of a country musician fan in my youth but gained a lot of respect for the old country and “story tellers” as I got older. It’s a wonder more musicians haven’t perished as often as they have to fly just to make a living. I had a real good friend Danny Clark in Louisville who just lost his son, Daughter-in-law, Granddaughter, and her husband in a plane crash going to perform in a concert out west. They were part of a renowned Gospel group the Nelon’s. Kelly Nelon was just selected to the Gospel Musician Hall of Fame. Danny and the family are still in shock and mourning- things can change in the “Blink of an eye”.

Thanks for sharing Bob. I never liked country at all either until I started hanging out with a good old boy from Mississippi (relocated to Detroit).

Entertaining and informative as always, thanks, David. Re: Patsy Cline, I saw a show at Playhouse Square (in CLE) last year entitled "Always...Patsy Cline." It was based on a true story about a fan of Patsy's and their interaction/correspondence over the years. 27 of her songs were featured - great story.

I agree on the food front..... only mine only lasted for one dinner and lunch for myself and my office mate. Will make again when Sam and Kels are home.

I'm going to check out some of the song suggestions in a bit.

Glad the BW is healing well. We send good vibes her way!!

Thanks Renata! Stan Rogers had some great sailing songs too. White Squall was one of them:

Now it’s just my luck to have the watch, with nothing left to do

But watch the deadly waters glide as we roll north to the ‘Soo’

And wonder when they’ll turn again and pitch us to the rail

And whirl off one more youngster in the gale

[Verse 2]

The kid was so damned eager. It was all so big and new

You never had to tell him twice, or find him work to do

And evenings on the mess deck he was always first to sing

And show us pictures of the girl he’d wed in spring

I'm going to look up that artist. Stan Rogers. Sounds like my kind of thing. I love that the Japanese REVERE cherry blossoms. If you want to see amazing fabulous gardens in Japan watch YouTube channel Japanese Backpacker Express. When the Japanese do European style gardens they do it BIG TIME.
