Enjoy the trip and don’t feel pressured to update with a lousy connection! Be present in the past, as it were. PS I think you’ve got a picture of Thoth there, not Anubis. Thoth has an Ibis head.
I've never wanted to go down into those passages, lit though they are. This piece breathed back all the magic and mystery that "science and academic study" can take away from this. I once,by chance, saw a tv documentary on the first "scientists" studying ancient Egypt culture. They were from England (Britain + France, maybe other European countries as well and in Egypt they found all over the place one particular image or icon that would definitely offend the ladies,or possibly raise a giggle, but the ladies might have not let the gentlemen know that. So they had those images erased, chipped out,all over the place. Leaving an empty space of course. You'd never ever know about this from standard egyptology. So it's interesting that you alluded to it. Just another thing our more educated betters don't want us to know about, lol.
Off the grid for a while is a wonderful thing! Enjoy.
Your pictures and commentary are again just stunning. We are certainly getting a world-class vicarious tour. 🥰
Thanks Sue! You are right about being off the grid! We have been enjoying lovely evening dinners with new friends and NO cell phones! So much fun! 😍
