Seems to me that people, many people who love life, beauty and interesting things find beauty and interest everywhere yet all we get shown or reported back to us via our "window on the world" is ugliness and strife. That trip all sounds wonderful. And I learned a whole bunch of new words. You would so enjoy a British TV show called Countdown,it's on every week day. I can watch it on catch-up. You also are I dare to think a sure fire future fan of lexicographer Susie Dent and she does a podcast called The Colour Purple with the funny, clever and slightly weird Giles Brandreth.
PS. I know some of my posts may put me among the "negatives," but I'm not,I've got 2 issues, one is that I can see what is going on,not all of it but enough to want to call it out and two,if I've stopped to gaze at a fabulous, stunningly beautiful yellow sunny Dandelion flower that is growing in a crack in the pavement in a run down part of town,it has that magnetic quality newly opened flowers have and I'm aware that two passers by are giving each other significant looks and smirking,at the simple minded fool they see who obviously don't know what day it is (actually these days sometimes I don't,lol),should I turn to them and say,"isn't that a wonderful sight" they will once again exchange looks, querying looks, then look at me with carefully blank faces of incomprehension, then walk on either in shocked silence or giggling. It doesnt stop me loving that beauty of the world,God's creation, scorpions + spiders et al but it does make me realize that to a lot of people that is not what "being a grown up" is about. I'm a few months off 70 years old. I guess now it's too late to ever find out!
Sounds like a good trip! Crossed the bridge twice this week, took about 45 min. Man that is tall!!
I thought my day was going to be pretty good but I read about what your plans are. Jealous
we were looking for scrabble at the lake last night but the kids found bananagrams which is a fun alternative!
Have a safe trip!!
